BPExch odds calculator: back profit, lay liability and green-up
A free calculator for back profit, lay liability, commission and green-up cash-out, with Pakistani shorthand odds built in.
The BPExch odds calculator shows back profit (stake × (odds − 1)), lay liability (backer's stake × (odds − 1)), net results after your commission rate, and the exact lay stake to green up a position: (back stake × back odds) ÷ lay odds. Type shorthand odds like 85 or decimals like 1.85.
| Back profit | stake × (odds − 1) |
| Lay liability | backer's stake × (odds − 1) |
| Shorthand odds | Type 85 for 1.85, 150 for 2.50; decimals used as typed |
| Commission | Set your own rate; results are net |
| Green-up lay stake | (back stake × back odds) ÷ lay odds |
Back and lay calculator
Enter a stake and a price. The calculator shows the back profit, the lay liability and the net figures after your commission rate. Type Pakistani shorthand (85, 150) or decimal odds (1.85, 2.50); numbers of 10 or more are treated as shorthand.
Green-up (cash-out) calculator
Enter the price you backed at, your back stake, and the lay price now available. The calculator gives the lay stake that equalises your result on both outcomes, the liability it holds, and the profit or loss either way, after commission.
How to use the results
- Before a lay: check the liability equals what you are willing to lose; at long odds it is several times the stake.
- Before a green-up: the lay stake is not the same as your back stake; use the figure shown.
- Commission: set the rate from your account terms. Results show what you keep, not the gross.
- Small greens: commission applies to the net at settlement, so treat a few-rupee green as roughly break-even.
The mechanics behind the numbers are on how BPExch works; worked rupee tables for liability and green books are in liability and green book explained. Nothing typed here leaves your browser.
Questions we get asked about this
How do I read shorthand odds like 85 or 150?
The number is the profit on a 100 stake: 85 means decimal 1.85, 150 means 2.50. The calculator converts automatically for any number of 10 or more.
Why is the lay liability bigger than my stake?
Because you are paying the backer's winnings if they are right: stake × (odds − 1). Lay Rs 1,000 at 3.0 and Rs 2,000 is held.
What commission rate should I set?
The rate in your account terms. If you are exploring, 5% is a conservative assumption.
Is the green-up figure exact?
The lay stake and both outcomes are exact before commission; commission is then applied to the net at settlement.
Does the calculator need an account?
No. It is free, needs no sign-in, and nothing you type leaves your browser.
